NEWS

Widget is our new Service Dog Puppy!

The winner of our December-January puppy name contest is Donna Reece, a fan of K9 Helpers from Ohio.  Congratulations, Donna.

Of course, K9 Helpers is another winner, because we’ve got a great name, and more people interested in what we do.

And the big winner?  Widget, of course—our newest service dog puppy, born in April.  He received early neurological stimulation when only days old, and started his official K9 Helpers training here in Guelph, with John (The Puppy Guy) Alexander and Sue Alexander, our head trainer.

July 2011:

K9 Helpers Service Dogs donation boxes were at  cash registers in every LCBO store in our region—including Durham, and Kitchener-Waterloo.

This resulted in a donation to K9Helpers of $1,654.40!

Thanks to generous shoppers at the LCBO, and a big thank-you to the management of LCBO for helping us in this way.

Valentines Tea 2011

We are delighted to announce that the Valentines Tea on February 13 2011 at the Cutten Club in Guelph was a great success!

Almost 100 guests enjoyed afternoon tea. There was a silent auction comprising items generously donated by local residents and companies - which generated funds for K9 Helpers to use towards our next puppy purchase. Sue also arranged for a quick demonstration of some of Diefer's skills, along with an explanation of how he has positively impacted her life.

A fabulous afternoon and thanks to all concerned. Special thanks to the Cutten Club for donating a first-class space for the event.
